New project - mohair kid poncho

I went into the Gunga Din yarnshop, and couldn't keep my hands from a lovely soft mohair yarn. So I have started a new, hopefully quick, project - a poncho for my daughter. Knitting for her so rewarding. I made up a simple pattern for this poncho, two big rectangles sewn together (as seen on many websites). It will probably take me a few days to finish it up and put the pattern and a picture on my blog.

I've been trying to make up my mind about what software to use for blogging, but I will probably keep blogging on Blogdrive. Movable type has more features, but it's not as easy to manage as blogdrive. Blogger is interesting, but I did not like their templates as much as this one. I even found a swedish blogprovider (bloggi.se), but they need to grow a bit more before they are interesting. Well, I am still a beginner. See ya!

And here's the picture. I love it - it is cosy, lightweight and warm!

Green mohair

I made a quick mohair shawl out of a small amount of yarn. I got this easy pattern from my friend Katja, and so I call it my Katja Shawl. I will post a picture and the pattern as soon as possible.

Pussyfoot knitting

I have put my multicolored project aside. It might be a whole lot of socks, a little bag, a pair of mittens or a hat - but it will never be a sweater. I don't know what I was thinking. The colours are wonderful and uplifting, but I can't see myself wearing all those colours.

So, for the moment I am having some mild frustration. I have nothing to knit! Well, I do have some other unfinished projects... everybody does I suppose. My mind has been occupied with other matters lately. Worldly matters of work, stress, sickness and confidence. Let's just say that multicolours does not match my mood. I would probably make better progress with something grey or black. Mail me if you have any suggestions!

Many colours

My ongoing project is multistriped in lots of different reds, and I wonder if I will ever see it finished. It was supposed to become a multistriped sweater for myself. The choice of colours come from a book of artist Kaffe Fasset. I really adore some of his work, especially when I visited an exhibition of his work in Gothenburg, and badly wanted a piece for myself.

But now I am thinking... Why wait until the whole piece is finished? Why not make a small, cute, multicoloured bag to carry around right away?

Blog, blog, blog

Oh dear, I've been surfing around for knitting bloggers, blogging knitters, blogtemplates and software. And there are just so many of you all over the place. And so many really talented knitters, with great patterns and trillions of finished pieces!

I'm trying to figure out how to use the blogsoftware, and if any software is bettter than the other. So far I have looked at Blogger, Blogdrive and SquareSpace, and there are only subtle differences to my inexperienced eyes. I would really like to hear some opinions on this matter, and/or some advice.

My first posting

This is my first posting with Blogdrive. I really really like the intuitive way of Blogdrive, and it is nice looking too!

I will post my thought, pictures and patterns of my knitting projcets on this blog. There will probably be some blogging about life and love to read for those interested in that.

Baby Aran Sweater
Here is some proof of my knitting skills. This baby aran sweater looks just great on my 2,5-year-old daugther!

I am quite new to knitting. I learned to knit (and crochet) as a child, but for a long while I kind of forgot about this serene craft. Now, I am hooked on knitting again. I have not finished any BIG projects yet, it could be because I am a slow knitter. Any ideas of how to speed up your knitting is welcome!
