Soft fitted scarf

I wanted a relatively small fitted scarf in "vintage style". It's made in bordeaux red mohair. This scarf fits nicely around my neck and shoulders. I'm working on the pattern, and will post it here if anyone is intrested. I plan to fasten the scarf with a knitted flower.

I have also started on a blue sweater in mohair, inspired by the "Fifi scarf". You can find the scarf on Pahinen blogi - Barely a blog. More about the progress on the sweater later...

Tsunami

The horrible numbers of destruction in Asia are slowly sinking in. There are thousands of swedish tourist among the "missing people list". I am lucky enough not to know any deceased, but they are still friends of friends, and friends of relatives. I do not know what to do, but to give what little I have and to hug my daughter a little longer every day.

My heart, my thoughts and my prayers go to the victims of the tsunami.

I am an Earth Mother okay

You're an earth mother! Your friends sometimes
call you Gaea, because you're the original
earth goddess! You and your kids both have
dirt under your fingernails, and you spend as
much of your time as possible out of doors.
Your kids have an incredible appreciation for
nature.

What kind of a freaky mother are you?

Happy New Year!

I started a vintage style neck warmer in rust red mohair yesterday. No pattern. I hope it comes out right. I do not care if it turns out monstruos. I need to knit.

The multistriped bag is kind of finished, but not qiute. I need a handle and I am thinking about a green lining. I will let it rest for a another day or so.

See you in the new year!

A christmas without knitting

There has been no knitting at all this christmas. My fingers are itching for some knit and purls. I have serious thoughts about ripping up an old cardigan. It is too big, and I have found a lovely pattern in "Ingelise", a swedish magazine.

Nobody gave me any gifts wtih knitting content. *sob* I do not mind, not at all. I got so many beautiful things. My beloved gave me a silver necklace and bracelet, and they are absolutely wonderful. I gave him a gift certificate for a footmassage. A lovely session, or so I thought... He looked rather pale and revealed that he could not imagine anyone (but me) to touch his feet. Oh dear, I need to find something that suits him better - and fast!

oh dear

The "body" of my little multicoloured bag was actually finished a few days ago. It lies on a heap of yarn waiting for me to make something of it. It is just that... it does not resemble a bag. It is more like a tube or a hat. My daughter definitely thinks it is a hat.

I am dreaming of a christmas full of lovely yarn. I hope my christmaspresents contains material related to knitting.

My next "big" project will be a guernsey (or maybe an aran) for my special someone. This will probably take me a year, being a slow knitter, but I do not mind. I am in full search for some nice wool. Any recommendations?
