And a new project. I cast on for a small bag with stripes in many different shades of red. I am trying to make up the pattern as I go along. I know this is not a very good idea. I cannot help myself. It is a bit like getting to know a new acquaintance. For the first couple of hours I am not sure if I will make a friend or foe. It does a good job in keeping me from thinking too much about work. And all those little chores my boss will have invented for me when I come back to work om monday. *aargh* My kid has been sick for a week. I worry, I am the kind (of, mother, daughter, friend, colleague and lover) that worry. Knitting is a kind of meditation for me. I am not fond of knitting while watching TV. I want my knitting to be either all-consuming or fast and productive. Comments (2) Permalink

Nice progress on a new "Katja Scarf"! This time in the finest mohair I could find. When I fold it together it actually fits in the palm of my hand, and it is still warming. Mohair is amazing. I might be able to make another scarf before christmas. A blue one. ![]() Or I might start on a multistriped bag. I have been gathering some ideas from some great knitters all over the web. Now I know how I want it to look like. I have at least decided how to start, what needles to use and what colour to start with. Comments (4) Permalink

I seem to be into mohair these days. I came out with some Kidsilk Mohair after a visit to the yarnshop. My mother will be warm and nice in a red mohair scarf. Well, that is what I hope for. It is a quick project anyhow, and I can guarantee it as a christmaspresent. I wish I did not have to work these days, just sit around knitting and shop fo gifts. I want to develop my knitting skills, but it takes time and effort to accomplish. My house is full of intended socks - without heels and toes! Anyone need any leg or wristwarmers? I was looking forward to a Knit In at Gunga Din in St. Paulsgatan in Stockholm. I wanted to meet up withsome nice knittingpeople, chat a bit and learn some stuff about knitting socks. But I am cursed. I read Saturday and remembered Sunday, just because that suited me better. I took my tiny daugther by the hand and went, just to look at a closed door and a dark room full of yarn. I blame my poor memory on last weeks parties. My best friends wedding was a ton of fun, and made me dance again. I have not danced like that for... eh, years... probably four or five of them. Lots of dancing, lots of drinks, lots of laughter. And yesterday we held a birthdayparty at home. No dancing, no drinks, but still lots of laugther. And a fishpond full of candy. I am ready to commit myself for some serious knitting again. Comments (2) Permalink

![]() I got a comment about my multistriped project, proposing a mobile holder or bag. It was a very very quick crochet work last night. But, as I tried to write down the pattern, I realized that I really need to learn to do the patterns properly. Specifically I need to find a dictionary for knitting from swedish to english. Please, make a comment if you know where I can find what I am looking for! I used a three-treaded woolyarn that felts easily. The pattern goes as follows: Size: One size Finished maesurements: length 13 cm, width 6,5 cm Material: 3-ply 100% wool (7 red colours scrapyarn), #8/4,00 mm Crochet needle, Row 1: Make a chain of 11 st Row 2: sc Row 3: sc in the remaining stitches from row 1 Row 4-20: Crochet round. Change colour every round, or to your liking. Row 21: dc Row 22: BO Felt the item to make it tighter. Shape it while wet, and make two holes in row 21 for the carabiner. I use a carabiner to hang the mobile bag in a string or to fasten it in a belt loop or bag. Comments (2) Permalink

The first snow of the year arrived tonight, and we woke up to a new world! A beautiful, quiet and white world. It is almost lunchtime and the snow is still falling. I am looking out of the huge old windows at the museum (where I work) and it is like looking at a picture of Narnia. You know, the fantasty world created by the author CS.Lewis in his 7-book series, The Chronicles of Narnia. I finished the kid mohair ponco last night. My daughter wanted to wear it right away, but I want to put some trimmings on it first. I'll wash it tonight and probably post a picture this weekend. Make a comment Permalink
